Lascom is a service provider of surveillance and solution-driven products from IP Network Video solutions, surveillance, remote monitoring and management.

We supply, install, configure, maintain and upgrade IP Network Video solutions.

Installed systems includes PC based DVR cards, complete PC based units, embedded systems and hybrid solutions.  Features include motion detection recordings, event recordings or scheduled recordings. Cameras may be viewed via your network as well as  remotely by your computer or even cellphone.

Cameras installed are of a high quality, and compromise of the full spectrum from IP cameras to wireless, infrared, domes, and thermal.  Brackets, housings, lenses and lightning protection is also provided in areas where needed.

Management Software provides log event management, password protection, and individual color settings which allows for masking (blanking out) of certain cameras, as well as areas, including digital zooming in playback mode.

Functions of a IP-based surveillance network

IP-based video surveillance uses a wired or wireless IP network as the infrastructure for transporting digital video, audio and other required data. Using Power over Ethernet (PoE) technology, the network can also be used to carry power to the network video products.

A network video solution allows video to be monitored and recorded from anywhere on the network, whether it is on a local area network (LAN) or a wide area network (WAN) such as the Internet.

A network video solution comprises of many different components, such as network cameras, video encoders and video management software. The other components including the network, storage and servers are all part of standard IT equipment.

The core components of a network video solution consist of the network camera, the video encoder (used to connect to analog cameras), the network, the server and storage, and video management software. As the network camera and the video encoder are computer-based equipment, they have capabilities that cannot be matched by an analog CCTV camera. The network camera, the video encoder and the video management software are considered the cornerstones of an IP-based Surveillance solution.

The network, the server and storage components are all part of your standard IT equipment. The ability to use common off-the-shelf equipment is one of the main benefits of a network video solution. Other components of a network video solution include accessories, such as camera housings and PoE midspans and active splitters.

Benefits of an IP-based surveillance network

The digital, network video surveillance system provides a host of benefits and advanced functionalities that cannot be provided by an analog video surveillance system. The advantages include remote accessibility, high image quality, event management and intelligent video capabilities, easy integration possibilities and better scalability, flexibility and cost-effectiveness.
